Monday, October 27th           Essex County Welfare Office   10:00 AM – 2:30PM                                                                                                 

                        18 Rector Street, Newark, NJ

Lead poison prevention presentations, literature and giveaways distributed in the lobby,

Dusty the Dog display.  Referrals

Tuesday, October 28th          Newark Housing Authority       10:00 AM – 2:30 PM

                                                500 Broad Street,   Newark, NJ

Wednesday, October 29th     Kick–off at City Hall Rotunda       10:00 AM – 1:30 PM

                                                Newark City Hall        

                                                920 Broad Street, Newark NJ

Guest Speakers, Dusty the Dog display, Proclamation for Lead Week, Remarks from City Council, distribute information, incentives, Wipe Out Lead kits, light refreshments.

 

Invited Speakers Mayor Cory A. Booker, City Council President, Mildred Crump, Department of Child and Family Well-Being, Director, Maria E. Vizcarrondo, MS, Health Officer, Marsha McGowan,  Environmental Health, Director of Inspections, Peter J. Dillon, Jr., Childhood Lead Poison Prevention Program, Program Coordinator, Shonda Bryant.

 

Thursday, October 30th          Newark Department of Child and Family Well-Being   

                                                            10:00 AM- 2:30 PM

            110 William Street, Lower Level Conference Room 101

Train-the- trainer workshops for parents and teachers:

Power Point presentations, Newark Childhood Lead Poison Prevention Program, role of Nutrition and Hygiene in reducing personal exposure to lead. Nutrition demonstration. Distribute information, incentives and Wipe out Lead kits. Continental breakfast Free Lead Screenings.

 

Dusty the Dog display in the Lobby, 10 minute presentations on the hour in the lobby throughout the day.

 

Friday, October 31st               Lead Week Finale Halloween Party    4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

                        JFK Recreation Center

                        211 W. Kinney St. Newark, NJ               

Free lead screenings, Dusty the Dog display, Picture This Collage (cut outs of healthy foods, have each child put a cut out on the fold out board, Velcro fastened), contests, inflatable’s’, reducing exposure to lead demonstrations. Giveaways workshops, nutrition demonstration, popcorn, cotton candy, Haunted House and much, much more.
